BRADENTON, Fla. — Dunedin pitchers held Marauders bats spellbound Friday night at LECOM Park, as Bradenton did not manage a hit until the seventh inning in a 7-0 loss.

The loss was the most lopsided of the season for the Marauders (11-8), whose win streak ended at three games.

Blue Jays (7-12) left-hander Ricky Tiedemann (3-0) pitched five perfect innings and struck out a career-high nine batters, including eight in a row from the first inning through the end of the third. Jimmy Robbins tossed three innings of scoreless relief, and Conor Larkin finished the combined shutout for the visitors with a scoreless ninth inning.

After rehabbing Pirates right-hander Duane Underwood Jr. pitched a clean first inning for the Marauders, Justin Meis (2-2) labored in the second inning. A leadoff walk and a bloop single put two runners aboard for the Blue Jays, who brought a run home on a missed catch error by second baseman Jase Bowen as Bradenton attempted to record a force out on an infield grounder. An RBI-groundout and three more run-scoring hits followed, and Meis was removed with two out in the inning and a 5-0 Dunedin lead on the scoreboard. Denny Roman entered in relief and escaped the inning with a flyout, stranding two runners.

But as Roman went on to hold the Blue Jays scoreless across the next three innings, Marauders bats were unable to solve Tiedemann. Dunedin, meanwhile, added a run against Roman in the top of the sixth for a 6-0 lead when Damiano Palmegiani singled and later scored on a groundout.

With Robbins on to pitch in relief for Dunedin in the bottom of the sixth, Mike Jarvis worked a one-out walk to give the Marauders their first baserunner, but was left stranded. In the seventh, Jacob Gonzalez led off with a line-drive single to left field, ending the Blue Jays’ no-hit bid. But after Bowen followed with another single, Robbins retired the next three batters, stranding both men.

Darvin Garcia pitched the final three innings for the Marauders, allowing the final Blue Jays run on an eighth-inning RBI-single by Angel del Rosario, who finished with three hits and three RBI.

Bradenton left a runner stranded in the eighth inning. In the ninth, Gonzalez delivered another leadoff single, but after a strikeout, was erased on a game-ending double-play grounder.

The series continues Saturday with first pitch scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at LECOM Park. RHP Po-Yu Chen (0-0, 4.63 ERA) will start for the Marauders against RHP Michael Dominguez (0-1, 5.56 ERA) for Dunedin.
