ALTOONA- The Yard Goats Hunter Goodman knocked in two runs to add to his RBI-lead (49) in the Eastern League, but Altoona rallied to defeat Hartford, 8-2, Sunday night. Connor Scott tripled, homered and knocked in six runs, as the Curve snapped the Yard Goats two-game winning streak and captured the series, four games to two. The Yard Goats were held to two hits; singles by Goodman and Bret Boswell.

Hartford took a 1-0 lead in the third inning off of Altoona starter Sean Sullivan, when Bladimir Restituyo was hit by a pitch, Grant Lavigne walked and Goodman followed with a single to left field. Meanwhile, Yard Goats starter Joe Rock was perfect through three innings, before serving up a two-out double to former Pittsburgh Pirates first round pick Henry Davis in the fourth. The southpaw allowed one hit, no walks and struck out four in four innings of work.

Altoona erupted for five runs in the fifth against reliever Mitch Kilkenney, the big blow a three-run triple by Scott into the right-field corner, his second, three-run triple in the series. The Curve added two more runs on bases loaded walks served up by Mike Ruff to Davis and Mason Martin.

The Curve put the game on ice in the sixth inning, when Scott launched a three-run home run to the right of dead-center, his first homer of the season. The Yard Goats added an unearned run in the seventh on two errors, a walk and Goodman's sacrifice fly. Hartford reliever Adam McKillican finished up by retiring all six hitters he faced.

The Yard Goats start the second leg of their two-city, 12-game road trip Tuesday night at 6:35 in Akron against the Akron Rubber Ducks. RHP Chris McMahon will start for Hartford. The game can be heard on AM 1410 WPOP, FM 100.9 and the iheart radio app. The Yard Goats return home to Dunkin' Park on Tuesday, June 6th (7:10 PM), and host the New York Yankees affiliate, the Somerset Patriots, for a six-game series.
