WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y. (August 27, 2022) Richard Fitts dazzled again in the Hudson Valley Renegades dominant 15-1 defeat of the Hickory Crawdads on Saturday night at Dutchess Stadium. Hudson Valley tallied a franchise-record 24 hits in the contest.

Fitts (2-0) carried a perfect game into the eighth inning, broken up by a leadoff single up the middle by Angel Aponte. In just his third High-A start, he fired eight exceptional innings, allowing only one run on two hits, walking none and striking out seven. With Hudson Valley, Fitts has posted a 0.87 ERA, allowing only two runs on 11 hits in 20.2 innings, striking out 21 and walking just two.

In the record offensive performance, Jasson Domínguez, Tyler Hardman, T.J. Rumfield and Aldenis Sanchez all enjoyed 4-for-6 nights, Grant Richardson blasted a solo shot and pounded an RBI single, and Ben Cowles and Eduardo Torrealba posted multi-hit efforts.

The Renegades plated two in the bottom of the third against Crawdads starter Ricky Vanasco (2-5). Anthony Seigler drove in a run on a fielder's choice and Richardson grounded an RBI single to give Hudson Valley a 2-0 lead.

In the bottom of the sixth, Hudson Valley added three, teeing off Leury Tejada. Sanchez drilled an RBI triple, Torrealba brought Sanchez home with a grounder, and Seigler ripped an RBI single to extend the lead to 5-0.

Hudson Valley broke the game wide open, sending 14 batters to the plate in an eight-run frame seventh inning. Richardson launched a solo homer, Torrealba delivered an RBI single, Domínguez grounded an RBI single, Seigler lifted a sacrifice fly, and Rumfield blooped an RBI double.

Later in the inning, Richardson chased home another tally on a Hickory error and Cowles and Sanchez smoked RBI singles. In all, the Renegades cranked out nine hits in the frame.

In the bottom of the eighth, the Gades struck for two more. With the bases loaded and one out, Richardson was hit by a pitch to force in a run. Two batters later, Sanchez dribbled a run-scoring infield single to put a stamp on Hudson Valley's offensive night, lengthening the lead to 15-1.

Wellington Diaz tossed a scoreless ninth to secure the Renegades fourth straight victory. With the dominant win, Hudson Valley improves to a season-high 12 games over .500.

Hudson Valley wraps up its six-game series with Hickory on Sunday afternoon at Dutchess Stadium. RHP Blane Abeyta (5-7, 4.17) takes the ball for the Renegades, while the Crawdads tab RHP Dane Acker (0-1, 12.27).
