VACU and The Flying Squirrels

The Flying Squirrels are proud to team up with dedicated community partners like Virginia Credit Union to make a difference in the RVA. The two organizations work year-round with outstanding non-profits such as FeedMore to help eradicate hunger.

FeedMore Volunteer Days

Virginia Credit Union and the Flying Squirrels love to lend a hand in helping eradicate hunger. VACU has several annual programs that give-back. Several times a year VACU employees (along with Nutzy & players) volunteer at the foodbank. Additionally, VACU holds an annual free document shredding even with an encouragement for members to bring a can of food for FeedMore. The event has generated so many donations that FeedMore needs to bring in the donation truck to handle the load!

VACU Strike Out Hunger

Virginia Credit Union makes a $5 donation to FeedMore EACH time a Flying Squirrels pitcher strikes out a batter. The program generates a minimum of $5,000 per season and has generated over $20,000 in donations since it began in 2014.
