Indians Smash Dust Devils 14-1 in Series Opener

Spokane, Wash. - The Indians notched eight extra-base hits including a three-run homer from Ryan Ritter in their 14-1 win over Tri-City in front of 3,163 fans at Avista Stadium for Hispanic Heritage Night presented by Azteca Mexican Restaurants & Corona Hard Seltzer.

TOP PERFOMERS

Anderson Pilar (6-2) delivered one of the finest starts from a Spokane pitcher this season. The big right-hander out of Villa Isabella, D.R., allowed just one earned run on four hits while setting a new season-high with seven strikeouts over six strong frames. Pilar lowered his ERA to 2.38 this year in 45.1 innings between three levels.

Shortstop Ryan Ritter jumpstarted the Spokane offense with a three-run homer in the first inning - his 23rd of the season - and reached base three times total on the night.

Juan Guerrero had four hits, two runs, and two RBI, Jesus Ordonez had three hits and three RBI, and Braiden Ward, Parker Kelly, and Robby Martin Jr. all had two hits in the win.
