Our class will be participating in the Wichita Wind Surge Reading Program, sponsored by Credit Union of America and the Wichita Wind Surge. Your child will have the opportunity to improve his or her reading skills while earning rewards and a complimentary ticket to a Wichita Wind Surge baseball game. At the game, your child will also receive a complimentary hot dog and soft drink and will be invited to participate in an on-field parade prior to the game's start. Please encourage your child to reach their reading goals, and Hit a Home Run with the program, as we would love to see children who participate receive a ticket to our game!
A four-week program custom-designed for your child’s class by his/her teacher. Each week of the program represents a “HIT” on a baseball diamond. When a student successfully reaches their reading goal for the week, they will advance to the next “HIT”. The goal is to “hit a home run.”
Rewards: Your child will receive the following rewards once he/she has completed the goal for each base:
- SINGLE: One (1) Coupon for a Free healthy snack from Whole Foods Market
- DOUBLE: One (1) Coupon for a Free ice cream sundae from Red Robin
- TRIPLE: One (1) Coupon for a Free kid’s meal from Chick-Fil-A
- Home Run: One (1) Free Wichita Wind Surge BERM ticket, Hot Dog and Soda
Game Date: (CHOSEN BY SCHOOL) (Gates Open one HOUR BEFORE GAME TIME)
The School’s Parade will start at (TEN MINUTES AFTER GATES) so please have them there no later than (GATES OPEN).
*Your child's teacher will pick the start date of the 4 weeks
